So Mote It be

What an absolutely, wonderfully beautiful and perfect day!! It truly was. We didn’t really do anything “special.” It was just a lot of life as life is lived – Breakfast, dance class, lunch, dinner, playing outside, game time and now, finally, bed.

Of course, we baked two cakes, dinner was at the Lodge, and game time consisted of a lil Injustice League on XBox 360.

Though all were fun and interesting, the latter of these, was probably my favorite of all. The girls were an absolute riot playing the game. They got so into it and it was just so much fun to watch them. It was fun first as their father who loves them and loves to see them laughing and playing, especially together. But, it was also fun as their father who has been a gamer, who watched the evolution of gaming.

It was fun to see how they had the very same struggles at 8 & 6 that we had as teenagers – understanding these “new, crazy” controllers and learning the coordination. It was fun to watch them realize that as long as they were pressing buttons the table could turn at any moment. It was fun to watch them move from just pressing buttons to actually trying to learn moves. It was fun to watch them find their favorite character.

It was fun baking the cakes with them. It was fun taking one to the bake sale and sharing one with the family. It was fun knowing that their cake sold quickly and could have been sold twice.

It was fun to spend the morning with them. It was fun to go to dance class. It was fun to just watch life unfold, as it does, so meticulously.

It was fun to be “Awake & Dreaming.”

All in all it was a perfectly perfect day. In fact, it was so perfect that I am quite worn out. So, I could write on and on about the lessons and perceptions and experiences.

But, I will leave it at…It was a Perfectly Perfect Day.
